Hello, friends and degenerate wagerers! After a lean week for most of us, it’s time to get back on track and back in the winner’s circle at the AT&T Byron Nelson.

Let’s be honest — no one on the planet (except that one lucky dolt across the pond who bet 100 pounds on the stud) could have seen Si Woo Kim claiming the PLAYERS Championship. At least on or before Wednesday of last week. By Saturday afternoon, he seemed like a forgone conclusion.

Not to take anything away form Kim, whose performance was clutch to say the least, but some of the games brightest sure played like dimwits down the stretch. Unfortunately, that included my horse — Patrick Cantlay — throwing up on his shoes on Sunday.

That being said, Golfstradamus is still optimistic about this week in Dallas! After all, it’s easy to be positive about the future when you’re able to see it — most of the time.

For you mere mortals, I’ve once again provided a look into my crystal brain and provided you with the can’t-miss picks for this week at Las Colinas:

Mortal Locks:

Dustin Johnson — Sure, he’s the favorite — but that doesn’t mean I don’t like being right. At 9/2, you need to bet heavy to assure a strong ROI, but DJ is as close to a sure-thing as their is these circles nowadays. Don’t shy away — this could just be what you need to get you hooked on this betting thing.

Jordan Spieth — This week in Texas, the powers that be are laying Jordan Spieth at 12/1. How’s that for home cooking? The only true foil to DJ in Texas could be Spieth who has made more starts in this even than any other in his career. He’s comfortable on the course and will get to sleep in his own bed all week. You’d be foolish not to take the action here.

Tony Finau — Finau’s game sets up nicely for TPC Four Seasons, proven by his excellent track record here. It’s a small sample size, but Finau has never finished worse than T-12 and boasts a scoring average of just north of 67. At 30/1, the juice is worth the squeeze.

Bang for Your Buck:

Charley Hoffman — Always a great dark horse choice, Charley Hoffman is a guy I’m not going to pass up this week — and neither should you. A solid performer not just here, but all over the Lone Star state, I love him at 30/1.

Marc Leishman — Don’t count out the Aussie this week in Texas! Leishman has quietly had a good year to date but hasn’t quite burst through or gotten hot. With major championship season on the horizon, a trip to Texas could be just what he needs. At 40/1, he’ll provide a nice pay day for those bold enough to make the play.

Seamus Power — I mean, I’m not not going to be a guy named Seamus Power? Aren’t you going to bet on a guy names Seamus Power? He’s getting 200/1 money this week — 300/1 less than last week’s winner was. As they say, fortune favors the bold. Throw a couple shekels his was and may the luck of the Irish (he’s got to be Irish, right?) shine upon Seamus (and me. And you) this week in Dallas!

There you have it, boys and girl! As always, I can only make suggestions. I’m not going to hold your hand any more than I already am. In the words of Alec Baldwin in Glengary Glenross, “the money’s out there. You pick it up, it’s yours. You don’t, I got no sympathy for you.”
