Olesen Dominates in Turkey
The talk leading up to the 2016 Turkish Airlines Open was centered on the players who decided not to attend the event due to security concerns. But through three rounds it looked like it wouldn’t have mattered who showed up.
Denmark’s Thorbjron Olesen led by seven shots through 54 holes after rounds of 65,62 and 68 and completed the rout with a final round 69 on Sunday.
And even though the Dane had a few nervous moments on Sunday, courtesy of England’s David Horsey and China’s Li Haotong, the result never looked in doubt since Friday morning.

He may not have been in a PGA Tour winner’s circle since Obama was starting his first term in office. But Paul Casey is still a deserving number one in the Razzball.com Fantasy Golf Rankings, October 25, 2016 edition.
The Englishmen has recorded four top four finishes in his last five starts and holds on to top spot after a T21 at the CIMB Classic.

All the excitement of course was generated by the expected appearance of Tiger Woods, but that all died early this week when Woods confirmed he wasn't going to be in the field.
So, for now, the excitement generated by a new season will have to do.

Despite a disappointing Tour Championship, Dustin Johnson
is the runaway winner of Razzball’s 2016 PGA Tour Player of the Year.
The 32-year old native of Columbia, South Carolina won three times this season. In addition to his first major at the U.S. Open, he won the WGC Bridgestone Invitational and the BMW Championship.
DJ finished the season with a total of 1,640 points, 328 more than Australia’s Jason Day
, the #1 player in the Official World Golf Rankings
Day failed to win a major in the 2015-2016 season, but was also a three-time tour winner. The 2015 PGA champion's victories came at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, the WGC-Dell Match Play and at the Players Championship.
It took a while for him to get back, but it should come as no surprise that Rory McIlroy is on top of the Razzball.com Fantasy Golf Rankings, October 4, 2016 edition.
If you had polled golf experts prior to the start of the 2016-2016 PGA Tour season, many would have chosen the young Northern Irishman to me on top of the rankings at the end of the year. The fact that it took him a little longer than expected is the only shock.
McIlroy continued his late season surge at the Tour Championship, winning for the second time in the PGA Tour playoffs to capture the 2016 FedEx Cup championship, and the $10 million dollar bonus. While that may not take away the disappointment of a frustrating major season completely, I'm sure it helps.
The four-time major champion moves up five places to capture top spot, the second time he's hit number one in our rankings. He previously ruled the rankings for two weeks in November, 2015.
He holds a surprisingly slim lead over a resurgent Paul Casey, who recorded his third consecutive top five playoff finish in Atlanta. The Englishman moves from 3rd to 2nd in his fourth consecutive week in the Top 10. Casey still hasn't won on tour since the 2009 Houston Open, but a PGA Tour victory seems close.
- 2016 Ryder Cup Friday Foursomes Predictions for September 30th:
2016 Ryder Cup Friday Foursomes - Match One
and Patrick Reed
(USA) vs. Justin Rose
and Henrik Stenson
Based on past Ryder Cup performance, this sets up well for the Europeans. Rose and Stenson are a combined 6-2-2 in Ryder Cup foursomes play, and were 3-0-0 as a team in 2014. The American duo of Spieth and Reed, meanwhile have never won a foursome's match.
This edge is offset somewhat by form and health issues. Spieth and Reed were both relatively sharp in the PGA Tour playoffs, both reaching the Tour Championship in Atlanta. Neither Rose nor Stenson qualified for the final stage, Rose due to uninspired play and the big Swede due to injury.
Predicted result - Halve
