Hola, frands and degenerates! It’s time, once more, to line your pockets with green! This week, the PGA Tour heads to West Virginia for some moonshine and John Denver karaoke. Oh, and the Greenbrier Classic.

Excuse me — A Military Tribute at the Greenbrier (henceforth referred to as “the Greenbrier Classic).

After a couple weeks of letting loose on the yacht and being turned down by Karen Gillan, I’m back and ready to cash a check. Hopefully, you are, too.

One thing you can bet on this week is that it’s going to be tough. The Old White TPC is one of the easiest courses on tour each year, routinely yielding scores in and around the mid-60’s. It’s also yielded four first-time winners in seven full-field events. And the other winners here are Stuart Appleby, Danny Lee and Angel Cabrera. One of these things is not like the other….

With this in mind, there’s as good a chance a guy getting 100/1 money this week as, say Bubba Watson, who is getting ___ money just a week removed from his third PGA Tour title of the season. Oh boy.

So — let’s spin the wheel of destiny and hope it comes up in our favor. Here’s a look at our might-miss, almost positive, best guess picks for A Military Tribute at the Greenbrier:

Mortal Locks:

Bubba Watson — I’m a tad reticent to pick Bubba since we all know how hard it is to win in bunches on the PGA Tour, but the Old White TPC sets up nicely for the two-time Masters champion. Watson comes into West Virginia riding a swell of confidence following his 3rd win of the season at the Travelers. As one of the Greenbrier Resort’s ambassadors teeing it up this week, the club would certainly love to see Bubba dawn the (olive) green jacket come Sunday. At 16/1, you’ll be rewarded handsomely if he does.

Russell Henley — Trends are important to pay attention to — and no player is trending in a better direction this week at the Greenbrier than Russell Henley. Not only is the Georgia product a horse for the course with back-to-back top-5 finishes, but he’s coming in on the heels of a T-6 at the Travelers in his last start. At 20/1, he’s potentially the best investment on the list.

Bang for Your Buck:

Jimmy Walker — When you’re filling out your cards this week, don’t sleep on Jimmy Walker. You might’ve forgotten just how good Walker is at the Old White TPC, but I’m here to remind you. Last year he finishes T-18 while battling Lyme disease. Before that, he collected three top-4 finishes in the event. This year, he’s back — playing the golf that made him a household name. At 30/1, there are few better bets in the field this week.

Anriban Lahiri — For those who follow not only me, but golf in general, you know a PGA Tour win for Anriban Lahiri is a long time coming. The Greenbrier is batting just over .500 in producing first-time winners. Call it a hunch or call it cosmic timing but whatever you do, make a play on Lahiri this week in West Virginia. At 60/1, you’ll be glad you did.

Fun Under $5:

John Daly — After vowing to never play in a USGA-sanctioned event ever again because they wouldn’t let him use a golf cart at the Senior U.S. Open, Daly is the hero we need — even if we don’t deserve him. At 1000/1, wouldn’t it be nice? I bet per chance to dream.

There you have it, friends and degenerates. Now if you’ll excuse me, the yacht needs a cleaning — so it’s time to dust off the scuba gear and go for a deep dive. Until next time, go and choose wisely…
