Three straight Top 3 finishes to open the 2015-2016 PGA Tour season has moved Kevin Na into third place in the Razzball Fantasy Golf’s PGA Tour Hot Index. He was 7th on the index entering the week.
Na added a 3rd place finish at the CIMB Classic to his runner-up placings at the Frys.com and Shriners Hospitals for Children Open and is quickly closing the gap on top ranked Jason Day, and #2 Henrik Stenson, heading into the WGC HSBC Champions event in China.
Day leads the index with 3,260 points, 524 points ahead of Stenson. Na has 2,240 points, 120 more than Masters and U.S. Open champion Jordan Spieth.
Na wasn’t the only player making a big move this week. CIMB Classic champion Justin Thomas jumped 20 places from 27th to seventh in the standings, while Japan’s Hideki Matsuyama also busted in to the Top 10, at number 10, after his 5th place finish in Malaysia.
Rounding out the Top 10, Justin Rose slipped one place from 4th to 5th, Rickie Fowler fell a spot, moving to #6 this week; defending HSBC Champion Bubba Watson fell two places from sixth to eighth; and fellow American Dustin Johnson dropped to #9 from eight a week ago.
With extra points available at this week’s World Golf Championship event in Shanghai, look for a big shakeup in the standings next week.
Razzball’s PGA Tour Fantasy Golf Hot Index is calculated using a rolling 10-week period, with the most recent events being weighted more heavily. Bonus points are given for top tier events like the FedEx Cup Playoffs and World Golf Championships, with the most points up for grabs during the Majors and at the Players Championship.
The weekly rankings are published every Tuesday during the PGA Tour season.
