Ahh yes. Pride does, in fact, come before the fall. And what a fall it was for ol’ No. 1.  A mere four days after pounding my chest and talking about who magnificent the 2017-’18 season was going for Golfstradamus, I laid an egg. And, worst of all, opted to pass on Patton Kizzire in favor of Beau Hossler. Yuck.

Now that the John Deere Classic is in the books, the greatest players on Earth will turn their focus towards the 146th Open Championship at Royal Birkdale. For many, this week will be one filled with positive vibes and good feels — but for others, it’ll be a week wrought with concern and self-doubt.

As the last chance for many of the Tour’s bright young stars to qualify for next week’s Open Championship, there’s plenty on the line for young stud and wily veteran alike.
